Call for Presenters
The conference committee invites you to propose a presentation, a workshop or a panel.
Your topic will relate to the following (or other) areas:
- Strengthening the NZSL teaching workforce
- Teaching NZSL for specific purposes/ groups
- Diversity in NZSL teaching and learning
- Technology for NZSL teaching and learning
- Assessment of NZSL skills
- Teaching NZSL in schools
- NZSL learning resources
Presentation formats
- Presentation, 30 mins
- Present information, ideas, experience or research.
- The 30 minutes includes 5-10 mins for questions.
- Workshop, 60 mins
- A workshop includes introduction of a topic, with audience participation such as discussion or group activity to explore the topic.
- Panel, 60 mins
- Panels usually involve a facilitator and 4 - 5 panel members. Panel members give a prepared, brief presentation explaining their point of view about one topic. Then there are questions and discussion from the audience.
- An effective panel has a person coordinating the panel members before the conference to make sure they each prepare different points and do not repeat each others points too much.
